K-9 Jake was a proud product of the Puppies behind Bars Program. He has been fortunate to work with many fellow law enforcement agencies around the country. Jake has served his country searching for explosives for multiple government agencies in the Washington DC metro area. Due to his calm demeanor and his ambition to please his handler, Jake was a crowd favorite for adults and children alike at public events, school visits, community related events and canine demonstrations.

Jake now spends his retirement with his handler and his family. He enjoys swimming in the lake and retrieving the ball almost more than working. K-9 Jake was meant to be a working dog. Although he enjoys retirement, Jake loved to work. Working was not a job to him, it meant spending time with his handler, playing with other dogs, and having fun. Jake embodied every primary trait a working dog should have. Jake is smart, kind, loving, energetic, inquisitive, happy, and determined. K-9 Jake proudly served his community and its citizens with distinction in order to make the world a safer place.
