Please Welcome K-9 Bodhi #334

Please welcome K-9 “Bodhi” to the Project K-9 Hero Pack, as our 334th Program Member. K-9 Bodhi honorably served with the Prince William County Police Department, in the State of Virgina, from 2016 to 2025, as a Narcotics Detection K-9 assigned to the DEA/HIDTA Mass Transit Interdiction Task Force.

K-9 Bodhi is a ten-year-old German Shepherd that spent nine years serving his community.

An estimated summary of his seizures is:

- Over 1,000 pounds of marijuana

- 50 pounds of methamphetamine

- 20 kilos of cocaine

- 6 kilos of fentanyl powder

- 50,000 fentanyl pills

- Over $2M in narcotics proceeds

Now that Bodhi is retired, he has an ACL tear in his leg that gives him a noticeable limp. A potential surgery may be in his future to assist with this debilitating issue, but as of now it is unknown when that will be necessary or what the overall financial implications would be until it is looked at by an orthopedic surgeon.

We understand that the cost of veterinary care is expensive, especially for an actively-serving Police Officer/Handler working with a new K-9 partner. The very last thing we at Project K-9 Hero want to see is Bodhi go without the medical assistance he needs just because his bills were not affordable. Therefore, we decided to step up immediately and pay for Bodhi’s medical care at 100% for the rest of his life.
