Naming Project K-9 Hero as a beneficiary of your assets, such as your retirement plan or life insurance policy, is a convenient way to help our retired K-9 Heroes in need.
Many don’t realize that retirement plans, IRAs, life insurance, donor advised funds, and commercial annuities are not affected by a will. These accounts are dispersed according to beneficiary designations. The forms are often easier to update than a will, making them simple ways to support Project K-9 Hero's work and leave a legacy of protecting the future generations of America's retired working dogs.

A GIFT IN YOUR WILL
A gift in your will or living trust makes an even bigger impact than you ever thought possible. Whether you give a set amount or a percentage of your estate, you can have an extraordinary, positive impact on retired K-9s for years to come.
Please include our EIN #81-1770909 in your will documents or use the following template within your will.
SAMPLE WILL TEMPLATE:
For an unrestricted gift that allows Project K-9 Hero to determine how to use the funds who bequeath based on our most immediate needs, please use the following language for your will and/or trust:
"I give to Project K-9 Hero (EIN #81-1770909), a nonprofit corporation currently located at 309 Bear Pen Road, Whitwell, TN 37397, or its successor thereto,
_________ [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] for its unrestricted charitable use and purpose."
To designate your gift for a particular purpose or program:
"I give to Project K-9 Hero (EIN #81-1770909), a nonprofit corporation currently located at 309 Bear Pen Road, Whitwell, TN 37397 or its successor thereto, _________ [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property]. This gift should be used for (state purpose) if and so long as Project K-9 Hero determines that such a need exists. If Project K-9 Hero shall determine at the time or gift or at a later time that the need does not exist, or no longer exists or for some reason it is not possible (or prudent) to administer my gift as originally intended, then Project K-9 Hero may, in its sole and uncontrolled discretion, direct the use of my bequest for a purpose related as closely as possible to that stated above."
If you have named Project K-9 Hero in your will or trust, please let us know so that we can ensure that your gift is used according to your wishes. Letting us know of your plans will enable us to plan ahead for the use of your future gift. However, if you wish to remain anonymous, we will keep your name and gift in strict confidence.
