Please take a moment to welcome K-9 Audie, as Program Member #408 to our Project K-9 Hero Pack! K-9 Audie served as a Dual-Purpose Patrol Apprehension/Narcotics Detection K-9 at the Flathead County Sheriff's Office K9 Unit, from 2021 until his recent retirement on August 1st, 2026.
K-9 Audie is an 9-year-old Belgian Malinois who began his career in Florida in 2018. After initially receiving his Florida Department of Law Enforcement Certification, Audie honorably worked as a Dual-Purpose Patrol/Narcotics Detection K-9 in Florida until late 2020. His Handler then moved to Flathead County, MT where he became a deputy, and together they started a patrol dog program at the FCSO, and put K-9 Audie officially back to work in Montana in July of 2021.
During his career, K-9 Audie was also assigned a member of the Northwest Montana SWAT Team since 2021. Combined throughout his service in two states, K-9 Audie has had 231 deployments that led to 144 arrests. Due to his extraordinary career, and the wear and tear it caused to his body, Audie suffers from arthritis in his joints that is only getting worse as he ages. His vision is now
deteriorating, and he is in need of a Veterinary Ophthalmology Specialist. Audie currently lives with his Handler, but will require daily supplements to help maintain his mobility, which cost hundreds of dollars a month.
K-9 Audie has served two communities with extreme valor and distinction. Due to his special medical needs, we are honored to accept this Hero into our program so Project K-9 Hero can cover 100% of all future office visits, diagnostic testing, prescription medication, and any surgeries for the rest of his life.
