Please Welcome K-9 Bleu #413

Please take a moment to welcome K-9 Bleu as Program Member #413 to our Project K-9 Hero Pack! K-9 Bleu served as a Dual-Purpose Patrol Apprehension/Narcotics Detection Dog at the Oakland County Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit,in Michigan from 2017 until his retirement on October 17th, 2025.

K-9 Bleu is an 10-year-old Belgian Malinois who had over 500 deployments in his long career that led to dozens of criminal arrests. This includes seizing hundreds of thousands of dollars in illegal narcotics trafficking. Bleu was also assigned as a member of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team for four years as a key asset to the unit.

Recently, Bleu began straining during bowel movements, and blood was found in his stool. During a rectal exam, his veterinarian discovered an unknown mass. K-9 Bleu is scheduled to have a consult and an ultrasound on October 28th to determine if surgery is obtainable, and to do a biopsy to ascertain if the marble-size mass is cancerous or not.

K-9 Bleu has served Oakland County, Michigan with extreme valor and distinction. Due to his immediate special medical needs, we are honored to accept this Hero into our program so Project K-9 Hero can cover 100% of tomorrow’s veterinary specialty consult, plus all future office visits, diagnostic testing, prescription medication, and any surgeries for the rest of his life.
