Please Welcome K-9 Kash

Please welcome K-9 Kash as our 290th Program Member inducted into our Project K-9 Hero Pack! K-9 Kash bravely served as a Dual-Purpose Patrol/Narcotics Detection K-9, from 2017 through 2021, with Carlsbad Police Department in California.
During his four years of service, Kash was an exceptional Police K-9 who served with the utmost valor and distinction. Taking countless amounts of illegal narcotics off the streets and apprehending dangerous criminals, Kash also served on the SWAT Team, and was known to be one of the fastest and most capable K-9’s, not only in his department but in his entire region.
At the Annual Sierra K-9 Trials in 2019, Kash took 1st Place in Agility, 2nd Place in Obedience, 2nd Place in Narcotics Detection Vehicle Search, 2nd Place in Novice, 3rd Place in Protection, and 5th Place in Evidence & Article Search. Kash was on his way to a highly successful and long career, until an in-the-line-of-duty injury ended his tenure in 2021. Although he tried to come back to work, the injury was so severe, Kash was forced to medically retire.
Up until this week, Kash was living a very healthy and productive life in retirement with his adopted family, both of whom are active employees in Law Enforcement. Recently on July 11, Kash was having difficulty breathing to the point he had to be rushed to the emergency room.
After several hours of examinations, his family learned that Kash has Lymphoma, and the cancerous tumors are crushing his heart and lungs, making it extremely difficult for him to breathe.
Fortunately, this is the treatable kind of cancer, and Veterinarians felt that he had a very high chance of survival with Chemotherapy. This is because of how healthy and strong he is, at only seven years old.
Unfortunately, the cost will in the range of $10,000-$15,000, which will place an extreme financial burden on his active Law Enforcement family, who would do anything to keep him alive, to include going into extreme personal debt.
Regardless of Kash’s honorable service to the State of California and the American Public, all of his medical costs are now the responsibility of his adopted family since he was medically retired in 2021.
As of July 17th, 2024, we will now be covering all of his future office visits, cancer treatments, chemotherapy, diagnostic testing, medications, and surgeries at 100% for the rest of his life. It is the least we can do for K-9 Kash, for his dedication to helping others.
Please take a moment to welcome K-9 Kash to the Pack! PK9H is here to protect you after all you have done to serve your community and the United States of America
