Please Welcome K-9 LeMans #326

Please welcome K-9 “LeMans” to the Project K-9 Hero Pack as our 326th Program Member. LeMans honorably served as a Patrol Apprehension/Narcotics Detection Police K-9, at the Harris County Constable’s Office from 2017 to 2025.

K-9 LeMans is a nine-year old Belgian Malinois that spent eight years serving the greater Houston area and the State of Texas, helping keep its citizens and visitors safe from dangerous criminals and drugs. Throughout his career, K-9 LeMans was deployed to assist in hundreds of incidents. He played a crucial role in the successful apprehension of wanted suspects, participated in high-risk missions, located countless pounds of illegal substances, and helped seize over $100,000 in U.S. currency.

On February 6th, 2025, K-9 LeMans officially retired from duty with a list of medical issues that are no longer covered by the agency he served, thus causing an extreme financial hardship on his Handler who is still active as an K-9 Handler in Law Enforcement. This includes a special diet due to his food allergies that makes him break out in hot spots. He also has a severe case of arthritis that he requires special shots and medication for, costing hundreds of dollars monthly.

We at PK9H understand that the cost of medications and veterinary care is expensive, especially for a Law Enforcement Officer still serving the community. The very last thing we at Project K-9 Hero want to see is LeMans go without the medical assistance he needs just because his bills were not affordable. Therefore, we decided to step up immediately and pay for LeMan’s medical care at 100% for the rest of his life.
