Please Welcome MPC Hektor #394

Please welcome Multi-Purpose Canine (MPC) “Hektor” to our Project K-9 Hero Pack as our 394th Program Member. MPC Hektor served with valor as an integral component with one of the U.S. Army’s elite Airborne Light Infantry and Special Operations Units, in the historic 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment (2/75).

MPC Hektor served as a distinguished team member within the 2nd Ranger Battalion’s War Dog Program specializing in Tracking, Apprehension, and Explosives Detection. Hektor has conducted Special Operations training missions ranging from Direct Action Raids to Scout Program Development and Multi-Dog Tactical Applications. MPC Hektor has deployed worldwide in support of Contingency Operations on short notice. Hektor’s distinguished service undoubtedly increased the lethality and capabilities of the U.S. Army’s Ranger Dog Program.

During Hektor’s career, he has worked with the nation’s most distinguished organizations in the United States Military, as well as high-level government agencies. He has trained with various of partner forces abroad, elevating the effectiveness of K-9 teams globally.

Midway into Hektor’s career, he suffered a cruciate ligament tear while conducting training. Subsequently, Hektor was medically retired on October 1st, 2025, at just five years of age, with his original Handler, who is still currently serving in the United States Army in the Washington D.C. area. Due to the extensive damage to Hektor’s leg, it is expected that he will never fully recover from his injuries.
