Please Welcome MWD Aman #397

Please welcome Retired Military Working Dog “Aman” (H134) into our Project K-9 Hero Pack as our 397th Program Member. MWD Aman was retired on June 30th, 2026, from the United States Air Force, due to issues he was having environmentally and behaviorally while working.

Aman honorably served with the 49th Security Forces Squadron at Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico, as a Patrol/Explosive Detection Dog. During his career, MWD Aman was deployed on five missions to support the United States Secret Service to protect the President of the United States.

MWD Aman was also tasked with protecting Holloman’s infrastructure that encompassed more than 59,000 acres, three complex runways, and 7.4 million square feet of facilities. As well as securing the base’s aircraft and ground control that includes the F-16 Falcon and the MQ-9 Reaper training fleets (maintained by the 49th and 54th Fighter Groups). Aman’s daily duties help secure $12.4 billion dollars worth of military/government resources.

Once his environmental issues got to the point where he could no longer perform his duties safely with his Handler, a decision was made to start his disposition paperwork to transition out of the military. During that process a suitable adopter was unable to be located, and coming to our nonprofit organization become his “only” viable option. We at Project K-9 Hero have been working directly with his leadership since April, 2026 to make room for this amazing Hero at our 177-Acre Rehabilitation & Rehoming Facility in Tennessee.
