Career Stats: Pito was slated to be a Special Operations K-9 with the US Military when he was rejected because of a heart murmur. But that didn’t stop Pito, he found his way to a large government contractor where he protected a Special Operations Unit in Kabul, Afghanistan. However, when the large company he worked with lost the contract overseas, they ordered him to be put down. In
coordinating with our colleagues at the Department of State, we facilitated his safe return to the United States. Pito found a second career with our friends at Dogs for Defense Inc., where he provided protection for the American public at SeaWorld San Diego and other major events as a POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training) Certified K-9 in the State of California.
