The Project K-9 Hero Veterinary School Scholarship
The Project K-9 Hero Scholarship was created to support graduate students who are currently accepted to or enrolled in any post-secondary veterinary school in the United States, pursuing a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, and who support the mission of helping retired Police K-9s and Military Working Dogs.
AWARD AMOUNT:Â $2,000

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
•Applicant shall be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
•Applicant shall have obtained a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher with a demonstrated record of good attendance.
•Applicant shall submit a 500-word autobiographical essay detailing how they will support the Police K-9 and Military Working Dog community after they graduate and become a veterinarian.
•Applicant shall submit their most recent College of Veterinary Medicine transcript, or their most recent transcript from undergraduate studies
•Applicant shall submit a portrait photograph suitable for publication.
•Applicant must submit a letter of recommendation from a professor in the field or a professional veterinarian.
•Applicant must be available for a personal interview by the Scholarship Awards Committee if so requested.
Preference may be given to applicants who were or whose immediate family are, or were, Police K-9 or MWD Handlers.Â
This scholarship shall be directly distributed to the recipient's educational institution.

Project K-9 Hero is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring the best quality of life for retired Police K-9s and Military Working Dogs by providing medical care, prescription food, and death benefit assistance, as well as rehabilitation and rehoming services, to those who need them. Our vision is to honor their unwavering dedication by creating a global environment that celebrates their heroic service. We strive to reshape perceptions, ensuring these valiant animals are revered and respected for their loyalty. Through our efforts, we aim to provide these remarkable companions with the dignified post-service life they rightfully deserve, offering access to comprehensive healthcare and advocating for a quality way of life in recognition of their selfless contributions.
