Support K-9 Anik's Lifesaving Surgery

Project K-9 Hero Program Member #339, K-9 Anik, spent nearly ten years protecting Chattanooga and supporting major federal investigations. He located armed suspects, assisted SWAT teams, and even saved his Handler’s life during a violent traffic stop. His dedication earned national recognition, including multiple USPCA awards.

Now retired at 11 years old, Anik is facing serious health challenges.

Yesterday (November 24, 2025), he underwent surgery to remove a mass at the base of his lungs. He made it through the procedure, is awake and alert, and has started walking a little. His care team hopes to remove his chest tube this afternoon, and he may be able to go home tonight.

Anik’s medical care is expected to total around $8,000, and Project K-9 Hero is covering every dollar so his actively serving Handler is not overwhelmed by the cost. This support continues for the rest of Anik’s life.
