K-9 Dozer officially retired from the Grand Rapids Police Department after a tragic accident in August of 2023 left him with a life-threatening spinal injury.
K-9 Dozer was only four years old, and was having an outstanding career as a Dual-Purpose Patrol/Narcotics Detection K-9, until a speeding out of control car, hit his patrol vehicle while on duty and responding to a crime in progress. The incident left K-9 Dozer paralyzed initially with doubts he may never be able to walk again. He is now our program member for life and we will cover his medical costs at 100%.
