Mattis was born on 5/28/13 in Slovakia. He is a German Shepherd who works in narcotics detection, tracking, apprehension & protection. Mattis was an active officer from 2015 through 2021. His partner & handler is Mark Tappan. Mattis assisted in over 200 arrests during his six years of service. Mattis received several awards, including the Purple Heart, Officer of the Year, AKC Paw of Courage, and AKC Excellence in Service Police K-9s. He is a Program Member of Project K-9 Hero and gets all of his medical bills paid for through your support!
